Anna Dibble Online Exhibition

These fourteen paintings are a recent selection from a  species I started when I moved to Maine around four years ago. A ‘species’ because every series of paintings I’ve made over the years has been driven by a deep connection to the wild – the natural world, and the human animal’s relationship with it, for better or worse. This one – perhaps a personal mythology – grows out of both my love for the wild and urgent concern for its future.  The swim of the painting process, playing around with mediums, the search and surprise is a shuffle, an excavation, and a strange hope.
