Adrienne Kernan LaVallée

Surrounded by nature at her studio in Biddeford Pool, Adrienne Kernan Lavallée’s main inspirations are the ever changing colors, light, and energy of the Maine coast. She depicts places both real and imagined, drawing source material from memory, photography, field sketches, objects, and written references. Mark-making is an important element of her work, and her process includes palette knives, brushes, and occasionally a gloved hand to create texture and motion.
