Solitary time amongst the rocks, sea and wooded lands on the Maine coast offers increasingly subtle guidance. Listening and looking deeply allows primal alignment with the elements. Nature is a teacher that gifts us a living sense of our ancient and impermanent home. It has become clear to me that when we open to the joy of nature, nature takes joy in us. This sense of reciprocity and interconnectedness is core to my life and work. Whether working in-studio or on location, I transmute rich sensory and internal experiences with paint into a pictorial language of observational abstraction.
