The George Marshall Store Gallery accepts proposals for group exhibitions on a rolling basis.

We welcome artworks in all media and are committed to presenting the work of artists, curators, and creatives living or working in New England. Special interest is given to those who identify as emerging or mid-career, and can demonstrate legitimate effort toward advancing their professional creative careers.

Exhibitions are scheduled four months to a year in advance. Due to the high number of submissions we receive, we are only able to review those that adhere to the following guidelines.

Please email all submissions, and any questions, to submit@georgemarshallstoregallery.com

The following items are required for submission:

  1. A brief written proposal describing the scope of your exhibition. This should explain

    • What the physical work is

    • Who the participating artists are

    • A general theme or unifying idea

    • Roughly how many pieces will be included, approximate sizes, and any special installation requirements

    • Exhibition readiness (when would your show be ready to install?)

    • Whether you envision any supplemental programming (artist talks, workshops, etc.). Programming is welcomed but not required.

  2. CVs for all participating artists

    • CVs provide us with a more complete idea of each artist and their practice. We ask for this document to learn whether and where artists have been active in the past and any experience relevant to their practice. Formal artistic training is not a factor in determining which proposals are selected.

  3. 6-10 images of artwork that will be exhibited

    • These can include details, alternate views, and images of representative works if you are still in the process of creating (please identify representative works as such if they are included in your proposal).

    • For each image please provide artist name, artwork title, medium, dimensions, date, and price, either in the file name or as a separate list of works.

Thank you for your interest in exhibiting with us. We review all submissions and appreciate the time it takes to prepare these materials. While we strive to respond to each proposal, the high volume we receive means we may not be able to personally reply if yours is not a fit for our space.
